Walking into theater. No birth registrations

Gave birth at Parklands Hospital 3 years ago and was thrilled that Home Affairs sorted out the birth certificate without having to go to a Home Affairs office.

Gave birth 3 weeks ago at the same hopsital and was told that I need to go to Home Affairs and have the birth registered, as per Home Affairs instructions.

Friend gave birth at St Augustine's, which is also a Netcare hospital, a few weeks before me, and yet her son's birth registration was done at hospital. So why the discrepency between the Netcare hospitals? It's crazy to expose newborns to a day at Home Affairs.

Called St Augustine's, Parklands and Netcare in Sandton, but no one was able to assist. All I got was my call being transfered to other extensions which conveniently went unanswered!

Also found it very odd that I was asked to walk into theater for my c-section this year, whereas previously I was wheeled in, on a bed. Nothing wrong with walking, just found it really strange.

What's happening to the quality of Netcare hospitals?
