Waiting weeks for refund | Refund department lying by saying they will pay ‘today’

My father had an emergency procedure done on 28 May 2023 at Netcare Sunninghill Hospital. He doesn’t have medical aid so before they would operate, they demanded we pay over R180 000. Which we paid immediately. He was in theatre for 27 minutes and he spent one night at the hospital.

We have filled out all the paperwork and submitted all supporting documentation to get the bulk refunded to us.

When we call the refund department, we are passed to about 5 different people before getting an answer.

The answer is always: The payment will be done today.

We are still waiting. Still calling. Still no money back.
