Very Disappointed

Very disappointed with the care at Netcare Rehabilitation Hospital Auckland Park (Faith Ward).

Staff were largely unresponsive — it was extremely difficult to get hold of anyone for help. Even getting assistance with something as basic as a bedpan felt like an effort for staff, and we often had to manage on our own.

My husband was clearly in severe pain, yet we had to ask for pain medication instead of it being managed properly. When I raised concerns with the doctor, his response was sarcastic and dismissive, showing a complete lack of empathy.

At one point his hand was badly bruised, and no one could explain how or why this happened, which was extremely concerning.

My husband’s pain escalated significantly to the point where we had to call an ambulance ourselves to take him to Netcare Milpark Hospital, where a blood clot in his lung was diagnosed.

Had we not taken action, the outcome could have been far worse.

Faith Ward is not a place I would recommend. Families should keep a very close eye — the level of care and concern is deeply worrying.
