UPSET MAMMA BEAR!

After great consideration to post this complaint or not ,other moms needs to be made aware of what they are in for when going to this hospital regards the nursing staff and standards - specifically in the pediatric unit.
My 4 month old was admitted on Wednesday 17:05 ,by 18:30 the nursing staff (which are SUPPOSED TO BE TRAINED TO WORK WITH BABIES) only managed to get the drup in ,after more than an hour of struggling and summoning a sister from ICU because they weren't capable enough! They *****ed almost her entire little body to get the drip in! We explained that we DON'T WANT them to draw blood the same evening AS WELL as she was already traumatized enough and requested they do so the next morning, we were basically told we don't have a choice, this is MY CHILD , I DO have a choice!!!

In most scenarios whenever her medication would start working out of her system ,we would wait up to an hour for someone to give pain medication due to them doing their "night to day shift handover" and vica versa! Its ridiculous , this is babies not full grown human beings that can take that level of pain.

On the first night I had to sleep under sheets on the day-bed provided for moms to sleep on at night , because I was just told, out right, there are no more blankets?!

I felt extremely discriminated against because I don't breastfeed my baby, every time I would ask to have her bottles sterilized I would also get a look of disgust and snotty attitude as if I am asking the world of them.

We were supposed to be checked out on the Saturday morning but the doctor only arrived after 14:00 Saturday afternoon to check us out which means my medical aid was billed for an extra day due to no fault of our own, i suggest this gets rectified and not billed to my medical aid.

Its like I was expected to keep my baby in the same clothes after heavy runny tummy and few throw-ups our entire stay, because when I actually dare ask for assistance with the drip to put fresh clothes on, I would also receive a very irritated attitude!

I have to add, my gynecologist practices from Unitas as well as my babies pediatrician , I hand all my prescriptions in at the pharmacy and have never received an attitude and SERVICE of this ridiculously low level!!

Even more importantly, my baby was born at Unitas, laying there and being treated in that ward for the 4 days when I was the patient after her birth ,was an absolute pleasure. I was also treated in the ER section a few times and also received excellent service.

Being in the pediatric ward felt like a completely different hospital, that ward needs help, its pathetic, the level of standards is horrible!
This is inconvenient for me because I LITERALLY live 900m from Unitas but Unitas will never be visited by me again. I will drive all the way to Midstream of Wilgers if I am in need of a hospital.

Mothers in this ward, in the same room as me , was back for a second or even third time with their children ,surely if they are treated well enough, the child wouldn't be back for a second of third time for the SAME problem?
