Unprofessional nurse did not use proper hygiene, nurses messed up constantly with scan times, meds, etc, nurses gave me no updates even though I made several requests.

I was in the executive suite at Christiaan Barnard Hospital: 1. Drip leaked, my gown was wet & nothing was done for several hours. 2. I made a fuss to see a doctor after not seeing one for over 15hrs (Doctor said nursing staff did not tell him I was admitted the day before). 3. I discharged myself & nurses ignored me & when I asked the nurse to remove my IV, she did not wash her hands, tore the dressing off & didn't use any disinfectant on my hand, even though you could see old dry blood from days prior (I have pictures. I think there must be cameras in the ward so they can check this as well.). 4. Nurse & technician argued in front of me about a ultra-sound (nurses didn't do the admin & tried to blame the tech for the mess-up). 5. Made several requests from the nurses to check my blood work BEFORE my CT Scan (requests ignored) & eventually the tech in the room called for results moments before the scan. I have a shellfish allergy and needed medication prior to the scan. The tech had to call the nurses to check that they did actually give me the meds. They did not inform anyone in radiology about my allergy, prior to my arrival. 6. The nurses didn't bother explaining ANYTHING to me & I had to rely on information I gathered from staff in radiology. 7. CT scan was scheduled for 12. The hospital called me to change the time of my scan to 1pm and when I mentioned this to the nurses in the ward, they had no clue what I was talking about. The scan was then changed to 12 again for reasons not explained to me. The ER nurses & doctors were fantastic when I was admitted Sunday evening. Pity I can't say the same about the nurses in that ward (14th floor). The young man who eventually helped me was amazing. Thank God he was there. They were very quick to take my R50,000.00 upfront but slow with everything else.
