Unprofessional conduct by Dr Lubega Gyneacologist at Netcare Akasia Pretoria

I'd like to share my horrific experience at the hands of Dr Lubega who is a Gyneacologist and has a private practice at Netcare Akasia in Pretoria North. I was referred to to him by my GP. I was examined by Dr Lubega in mid-January this year and it was then that he told me that I had multiple fibroids and I would need to have surgery to remove them. He recommended the surgery especially since I was 35 and had no children and the fibroids would greatly hinder any chance of me having children in future. Dr Lubega was very pleasant upon our first meeting. I was scared as this would be my very first major surgery. However my GP assured me that he was a good surgeon and Dr Lubega seemingly came across as a considerate and knowledgeable doctor, this put me at ease and I agreed to be booked in for surgery on the 20th of January 2020. I was operated on Monday the 20th. After the surgery I was weak, in pain ,vulnerable and needed assurance from the Dr who had operated on me. Dr Lubega came for a scheduled Dr's visit on Tuesday he never asked how I was and hardly checked my wound , he never even made eye contact with me. He would come to my bed for a few seconds talk to the nurse and leave. Basically the aftermath of the operation and how it was affecting me was no concern to him. Thank God for the nurses as they are the ones who did his job. I had a lot of questions about the pain I was going through and how I needed to cope when I was discharged and at home of which Dr Lubega was not there to answer to. Dr Lubega's attitude towards me was impersonal, rude, arrogant and non attentive. He simply did not care. I was too weak and scared to vent out my fustration. I was at the mercy of this man's downright cruelty. I was scheduled for a follow-up appointment with him the next week, I went for my appointment with my mom and my mom noticed the same thing, he was despondent. I questioned his work ethic as it seemed as if he only cared about money and not about the overall well-being of his patients. I started to doubt whether I had been operated on properly so much so that I drove down back home to PMB after a month so that my original Gyneacologist can double check me. In fact I regret being operated by Dr Lubega and I wish my original Gyneacologist had operated on me. My original Gynea can only check via scan but he cannot see everything via scan. So after almost 3 post operation I'm still recovering and can only hope that everything is still in tact and that I'll be normal again. I would like to warn the women of South Africa about this Gyneacologist. He will be pleasant before he operates on you but after op he won't care and you're on your own. Remember after an operation alot can still go wrong and as a patient you'll need an attentive and considerate Dr to look after your well-being. I would assume that the this is what the Oath that they take is about. Even my Hystology report was sent to my GP to be given to me. I would think that such an important report would be given to me by him so that he can explain it to me as he is the specialist not my GP
