Unhappy with outcome and no privacy

Doctor Ohomba on duty on 12 June’24 at Sunninghill Hospital refused to admit my son .

When I initially came to the hospital I came for my son and I was also sick , but I was admitted.

My son came in with sneezing coughing, upper respiratory infection . He had seen the doctor 5 days prior and had been on antibiotics but he kept getting worse with his temperature up and down.

When I challenged the outcome of discharging my son, the staff all made a big argument in the hallway and I could hear from my cubicle. The doctor was a part of that . No sense of privacy our business was being discussed in the emergency hallway for everyone to hear.

Upon the doctor supporting why he could not keep my son at the hospital to my surprise he said that he had already ran blood tests and X-rays which I had not consented to , I was not approached for any consent at any stage.

He was angry and told me that he will consult a paediatrician to decide on whether to admit my son or not and I could hear him talking to the paediatrician giving him all the reason why he couldn’t keep the child at the hospital. I could hear the staff talking about the capacity not being available to honour my son’s admission. I am really disappointed. I have made arrangements for my son to be picked up and taken back home in the same condition that he came in.
