The maternity ward

The maternity wing in the Clinton hospital has really changed some what ... they completely leave new mothers to their own devices ... not one mother was shown how to bath their new baby or told how to care for the umbilical cord ... three years ago at the same hospital they gave you step by step how to everything ... the nursing staff are some what helpful but not when it comes to helping you breastfeed. Their lactation consultant is really rude and has no regard for a patients values ... this is unacceptable and the nursing staff rely heavily on this individual ... pain management in this ward is not a priority and for some mothers that have had spinals or epidurals are not given enough pain ****ers as there are side effects to the spinal ... I am truly disappointed in the fact that as a mother I chose to express rather than breast feed but due to the lack of incompotance if a mother wasn't able to breast feed her child would go hungry as they don't cup feed and only offer 1 type of bottle ... this hole experience has distorted my view of this once capable ward to absolute ******* ... nurses have no compassion what so ever .. if it wasn't a rule on the wall they wouldn't even bother to greet .
