Terrible Birth Experience with staff
Dear Netcare
I have spoken to my niece after her horrible birth experience with the nurses at Cuyler Clinic Uitenhage.
After giving birthday by c section she needed a lot of assistance and they had complaints everytime.
As her aunt I just feel we do not pay these medical bills for the fun of it. We pay it for the experience and service we are entitled to.
I believe a hospital like that should have the patients best interest at heart. Mikayla Rayners the patient rang the bell to Bell for assistance because her wound was painful at the time but the nurses at hospital told her she can't ring the bell every 5 minutes as she should look after the baby she called me in tears to come home because of how they treated her this is really pathetic and believe the staff should have more empathy towards mom's who experienced trauma during birth.
The shift of the 7th to the 9th October day and Night was horrible. Sister Russow was one the exceptional humans as well as the unit manager I do not count them as part of the staff that miss treated her.
She was shamed for requesting assistance from the nurse to hand her baby to her as she couldn't do it herself due to the the pain she was in. She felt like a burden. And the nurses especially sister Kitching she was awful.
This is a private hospital which doesn't come at a low cost. People should stop being nurses if they do not know how to handle people. The world is cold enough as it is and one does not need this type of pressure especially being a new born mommy for the first time.
I hope the responsible parties will be dealt with.
