Sunninghill Hospital

My father in law, Carlos Lopes, passed away at 1.30am at the Sunninghill Hospital today - 28 September 2020. An sms was sent at about 11 am this morning to my late father in law cell's phone requesting his permission (deceased at 1.30am) to provide covid result details to a Dr Puttergill. On phoning I was told that the deceased was not doctor Puttergill's patient and that Dr Puttergill would insert the results into the file as she was on her way to the ward, she would ensure that the file was handed to the correct doctor. It's now 16h55 and we have been advised by the undertakers that they still cannot collect the body. I am dismayed and disgusted at the additional and unnecessary trauma that has been inflicted upon our family as a result of the complete lack of service and incompetence at Sunninghill Hospital. It is now 16 hours since my father-in-law passed away..... is it common practice for the hospital to keep deceased bodies for this length of time? We still have no indication of when the undertaker can collect the body! Is this protocol at Sunninghill Hospital or a ploy to inflate costs?
