STAFF SUCK AND COULD HAVE GOTTEN MY MOM ****ED

My 81 year old mom, living in Belville in retirement centre, experienced angina and contacted her GP at 2 Military Hospital. The GP ordered ambulance service to pick her up and take her to the nearest hospital, eg Louis Leipoldt or N1 City Netcare. Louis Leipoldt refused as they don’t have a cardiac unit. N1 City refused to take her in and sent the ambulance away. Ambulance called Panorama and Cape Gate who both refused her. Ambulance then advised me (her daughter) that they must take her to Carl Bremer. I said not as the risk is to high. I called her GP at 2 Mil who advised that no hospital should refuse her as heart and stroke patients get priority. I called N1 City to check why they are not accepting my mom. Head sister said she never turned ambulance away and said I should talk to reception. Reception the also tells me they have not turned her away. All names given to ambulance personal does not exist when I enquire to speak to them. I insisted the ambulance to go back to N1 City Netcare. When they arrive for the second time they are again refused admission. Eventually casualty GP comes out to say they do not have space. Approx 45MINS LATER, she was admitted. It took 3 HOURS before my mom finally ended up getting help. I am truly DISGUSTED by the service and the lack of responsibility the staff takes, I kept getting transferred and got told on numerous occasions that the names given doesn’t work at the hospital and that they would never turn patients away. To resolve this I would like the following nurses to be reprimanded and a formal apology to be given to me because my mother could have died because of the staff in your hospital. By law you are not allowed to turn an ambulance away.

The ambulance spoke to Sister Mouton and Goosen; who told them that they can not bring my mom. When I called back to speak to them I got through to Sister Botha who is head of casualty who claims those sister don’t work there and they would never turn patients away and then continues to not accept my mother but transfers my call to reception because she says its their fault. I then speak to Jo-anne Co-craft who claims those sisters don’t work their either and that 2 Mil hospital isn’t associated with them and this is why they cant take them even though by law she has to. THESE NURSES NEED TO GET THEIR STORY RIGHT!!!!! MY MOM COULD HAVE DIED BECAUSE OF THEIR LAZINESS AND LACK OF CONSIDERATION. I WANT A FORMAL APOLOGY AND I WANT TO MAKE SURE THESE PEOPLE GET SPOKEN TO!!!
