St. Augustines shocking after care
This is my fourth surgery at St. Augustines Neuro ward and probably around my eighth admission. If not for Dr Gona Govender being the amazing neuro surgeon that he is, I would not even send my animals to this place. After care is non-existent. Bells ring all day from patients needing assistance, but to no avail. The nurses simply show disinterest and it is merely a means to earn a living for them. Patients are shown very little or even no respect and if you are in pain, the attitude is simply that they will deal with it when they get to you. There is one nurse, who is on the run all day. I would imagine that she is trying really hard to keep everyone happy.... well done Cookie. There are too many names to individually mention but Priscilla really shouldn't be in a position of "taking care" of people. I am just grateful that I am one of the patients who is mobile and able to take care of myself, however my heart goes out to those who aren't as fortunate. Netcare should send in "****" patients so that they can see exactly what is going on and the negative impact it has on the Netcare Group.
