St. Augustine's hospital - poor and *********

My sons mother had taken him to St. Augustine's Hospital on the 27/02/2016 after he complained of a tummy ache. They initially wanted R4000 which I duly paid. They had done a blood test/x-ray and check up. I was then called by the hospital to be told that I then need to pay R25000 to admit my son as they need to remove his appendix. I work and live in JHB. I rushed back to DBN immediately. Only to discover after a visit to a G.P. that my son has a stomach bug that required antibiotics. After one day and R4000 later they could not even make a correct diagnosis. They did refer us to a public hospital with a note stating appendix problem. The response from the doctor at St. Augustine to my son was \please ensure that you go check this up\". \"unbelieveable\". i understand that profit needs to be made at private hospitals. But do you have to stoop to such levels of behaviour. I am disgusted with St. Augustines hospital. I have given them the opportunity to respond via an e-mail that was sent on the 01/03/2016. They have chosen not to even grant me the coutesy of a response. I am not surprised. Both of my sons were born at this hospital and i certainly expected better. "
