SHODDY CARE AT ST AUGUSTINIES BEWARE
My brother was admitted to St Augustines hospital after he had a major heart attack on 22 January , he was in acoma for about 3 weeks. The Matron was lovely but some staff needed to be taught grief eticut, but it doesnt stop there. He was moved to the Surgical Ward 5. This was reported to Lorna De Reuck who referred me to Roxanne Pillay, which to date no investigation has starTed due to technicality...which to me is delay tactic
My brother was placed in Ward 5 where he was on a feeding peg and diapers, numerous times my family would visit and they could smell the stench of fecies down the corridor as they were coming for visiting hours, why was he not cleaned and prepared for his visitors, any time a patient deficates are nurses not suppose to clean him up or is tea time to important??? My anger just enraged when my brother was moved to Entabeni Rehab clinic and on examination of his intact they found had developed Ecoli and variouis other ailments, unfortunately i cant get the information but his estranged wife would have to ask for that, so it never happened. It is taking my brother up till now still to recover, he is still in diapers, on a feeding peg and cant walk.
How does a Netcare facility allow their staff to give such shoddy care to a person who is not able to voice their issues due to their mental state of mind and incapacity to talk. Is this really what our county has downgraded to, a job with no compassion.
I have written numerous mails and have been advised they are waiting for the wife to respond, since that will never happen, i have taken the matter up here and feel its time the media look into this facility who shurgs it shoulds at taking responsibility of LACK OF PATIENT CARE, at ridiculous exorbetant pricing.
