Shocking negligence by Netcare Ambulance

Absolutely disgusted in the lack of care and service by Netcare Ambulance service in Somerset West. An ambulance was dispatched by Discovery Medical Aid to an elderly gentleman of 84 who was having acute heart problems with a pulse of 180 and chest pain. One hour later a paramedic arrived with no ambulance or any form of medical equipment. By this stage I had called Netcare 3 times. The answer by the paramedic was we are busy! I asked where the ambulance is and he said there are no ambulances available. I took the gentleman to the hospital ER myself. This could have been a fatality due absolute negligence and zero service or apology. I have reported the incident to Discovery.
