Shocking hospital experience

I had a small procedure done at the Netcare Chris Barnard Memorial Hospital in Cape Town on Wednesday 25 November 2015.<br> I found the hospital to be a total disgrace. I was not accompanied to my designated ward from reception. I was handed my folder (the receptionist was very polite) and told to take the lift to the 11th floor.<br> I was shown my bed and given a gown - no curtains were drawn for me to undress, so I went to the bathroom.<br> When the theatre nurse came to collect me, the paperwork was incomplete and there was a scuffle to fill it in by three nurses!<br> Back in the ward after the op: The bedside table was unreachable, no bell was given me. The sides of the bed were still raised and I could not get up to go to the toilet. No water was on the unreachable table. No one offered me tea or pain killers. <br> When I was allowed to go home I had to go via the hospital dispensary to collect some of my medicine. I was accompanied as far as the lift on the 11th floor. I had to stand in a queue to get my medicine and was very wobbly after a general anaesthetic! No one to help me and I could not sit down or lose my place in the queue<br> Totally unsatisfactory.
