On the 10th of December 2020 i was hospitalized at Christiaan Barnard Memorial and i had to do an emergency C-section .

My understanding the Doctor is supposed to get authorisation from the medical Aid in order to update it from natural birth , however that was done according to the medical aid (GEMS).

On the 31st December i inquired with Gems whether the paid had been made and i was informed they need a motivation . Which my doctor said she sent through to the Case manager .

To date the information has not been submitted to the medical aid, i am getting Doctor bills every week mean while my medical aid is willing to pay but the required information is not being sent through .

How can i pay R22 ,000 when i don't get paid that to begin with . I can not afford this and i would really appreciate it if this matter be investigated .

Between the Doctor , Case manager or even GEMS someone is not providing the information to make the payment . If i could write the motivation and provide the clinical information i would do it myself unfortuenlty i cant . The people responsible are failing me and in the end i must settle the bill which is not far.

In January i asked again , still outstanding information , how do i go about in making sure the bill is paid .

Between the Doctor and the Case manager and the medical aid someone is not doing their Job.

My doctor informed me that she submitted a motivation to the medical aid , now that motivation is nowhere to be found , i have been to the GEMS walk in centre more than five times and i am told no payment will be made until the Dr submits it .

I don't know who is at fault between the case manager and my Doctor or even the medical aid itself .

I am in no position to pay R22k HENCE I HAVE MEDICAL AID . Can you please investigate . Kind Regards Phozisa Daniel
