Rude, disrespectful, condescending, cold nurse at Netcare Sunninghill children-ICU

My niece has been admitted at Sunninghill hospital for a couple of weeks in the children-ICU. The rules are that only parents are allowed to visit their child. My sister and my brother-in-law asked the “head unit nurse’ if I (the aunt) could be allowed to visit my niece. The head unit nurse agreed, and I was told to get a covid test and bring the result, which I did. Each time I visit my niece I get questioned about who gave me permission to visit and I have been explaining the same story for the past two weeks that an arrangement was made with the head unit nurse. I found this be very annoying as it shows how ineffective their administration process is, and it also shows that they don’t talk to each other – no communication and collaboration between the nurses which is concerning considering that they are looking after critically ill children. This afternoon I questioned again by an Indian nurse and the difference this time was that the nurse was rude, disrespectful and addressed me in an condescending manner. She phoned lancet to confirm if I had done a covid test because she did not believe me when I told her that I did the test and shared my results. Once she had confirmed what I had already told her, no apology was offered for treating me like a ****, instead she continued to be rude and she told me that she does care if I have done the test or not I should not come visit anymore in very condescending tone. I respect the hospital rules because they are there to protect our loved ones who are not well. The issue here is the rudeness, disrespect and condescending behavior of the nurse right in front of my 12yr old niece who is dealing with a very critical condition. This nurse, who did not have a name tag is the rudest and disrespectful nurse I have encountered in the unit. All the other nurses that I have engaged with have been kind, caring and respectful. The nurse who was looking after my niece this afternoon is the worst and rude nurse who did not respect me and my niece. No empathy and respect for both my niece and I. Shame on her for her behavior and I am very worried that someone with the kind of behavior is looking after my niece.
