R300 to sit on hospital bed for 15 minutes

So I take my daughter to Unitas emergency at 7pm on eve of 31 March 2015. Was welcomed in and well taken care off. I settled the bill of R861.11, not bad for 5 min of actual doctor time. Then I was told I could not get script because I did not open a file? Strange as we have been here before and did not need to open any file. I go to front desk to open file and is given a paper that say For use of the hospital I need to pay R300. I refused because after paying the bill I am not paying extra. The lade tells me it us for sitting on the bed etc. I got very upset and refused to pay and insisted on the script. I cannot remember ever having to pay such a fee. I was not advised before receiving treatment that there was this cost. All staff insist I must pay but I refused. I will really avoid Unitas emergency from now on if I can. Beware of these costs! It is a shame that hospitals like this rob people like this. The que at the pharmacy is also another hours wait. Very disappointed!
