Private doctors & their ridiculous fees

Dr. Variayava insisted Lancet laboratories do blood tests for my wife at Garden City Hospital which cost the mefical aid a bill of R60000 for 3 days! When questioned why, were told that it was necessary! The medical aid (GEMS)refuses to pay the bill totally! My question to the selfish doctors at any private hospitals,why the unnecessary tests which such high costs? Yet they know this is going to deplete the savings in medical aid funds! Also the bills from the same hospital was absolutely ridiculous! Doctors at private hospitals sick the savings out of medical aids and leave the patients with the responsibility of settling these amounts. Threatening letters from the Lancet laboratories and the hospital , totally unfair. These greedy doctors should be exposed!
