Poor service Netcare Akasia

On the 5th December i had an incident at home, my sister s 3 year old kid got hurt and her leg got swollen. We took her to the hospital Netcare Akasia - Pretoria North, she was taken in for X ray and results came out, we were told it s just muscles and nothing wrong with the bones. It was on Saturday when all these happened.

The following week on wednesday the 9th we received a call from the hospital, the lady said we need to bring the child back to the hospital and my wife told the lady who phoned to say, the kid does not stay with us and she s not around how ever the kids can make it this side and to the hospital on the 18th, the lady said it s fine we can bring the kids back on the 18th.

Friday the 18th on arrival, we were told from the previous X ray, the kid has a fracture on her foot, and according to them the kid needed a balancing shoe, which they did not have and they ended up putting a cast on the kid s leg.

All this time, the kids had no problem, she no longer had the pain and the leg was not swollen but they continued with their procedure of putting a cast.

As we speak, she was suppose to go for checkup on the 14th and for some reason we took her to another doctor and the Doctor phoned to hospital to ask for the kid s file and the X rays, to our surprise this other Doctor confirmed the kid never had a fracture or broken foot.

I m so shocked at Netcare Akasia for their incompetency, from the Radiographer who ran the xray and the Doctor who examined the kids, we paying huge hospital bills for poor service.

The hospital s obviously claiming all these from the medical aid, for wrongful diagnoses.

Dr s name is Dr A.Makhubela

Radiographer : Oosthyzen and Ebrahim

It s worrying how they read the Xray diagram, that they lie to say the kid is fine, a week later the claim the foot bone is broken, then we go to another Doctor he confirm the kid never had a broken foot or fracture.
