Poor Care and Communication – Netcare Alberton Hospital
My late father, was admitted to Netcare Alberton Hospital on 7 October 2025 and sadly passed away on 14 November 2025. During his stay, our family experienced extremely poor communication from both the doctor and nursing staff. The doctor refused to communicate with the children and would only speak to one family member who did not update the rest of us, leaving us completely in the dark about our father’s condition.
When we asked nurses for information, we were often treated rudely and made to feel like we were bothering them. We also noticed signs of neglect, including poor hygiene and injuries on his wrists from restraints.
The most painful part was the way he was handled after he passed away. Medical tubes appeared to have been removed roughly, leaving visible injuries, and his body was wrapped in plastic in a very undignified manner.
I previously sent a formal complaint to the hospital but received no response, which is why I am now raising this matter publicly. Our family deserves answers and accountability.
