Pinehaven ER doctor will blame you for sitting in front of a heater while a blood clot is moving through your body!

I hope this email reaches you well. I am putting this on Hello Peter because I called your office twice yesterday to confirm the email address with Annelien and till today my email is being returned undeliverable I am bitterly disappointed in a hospital I used to regard as one of the VERY BEST.

I came into your ER @ Netcare Pine Haven and was seen by Dr Breeweg. He was kind, polite and professional. He took a detailed history and when I passed out as I had done at home, he went to get my husband, Suffering from APS he immediately looked at the blotchy lacy pattern that was spreading on my leg and diagnosed vasculitis. I will be the first to admit and as I even told the blood sister and the sister who put up the drip if the need to ***** more than once don't feel bad because I know my veins already and will never complain to drip me is not the easiest feat as I have very brittle and fine veins and most times it ends up on my foot, however as a nurse myself I do know when I drip has tissued and when the male nursing sister ran my Xefo in and my foot started swelling painfully I was told it was not in the tissues it was because it was over a bony prominence. Now only after my foot started tracking red line and bulging even more was the drip removed and resited yet again on my other foot. Dr Breeweg wanted to still have an MRI brain done to make sure that nothing had happened given I passed out and the vasculitis had spread.

Day and night shift change and Dr Mafa came on duty, and this is where my issue is, firstly even though I came into the ER with the lacy pattern on just on leg, and it was now already starting on the other, he looked at me and loudly announced "Oh this here is what happens when you sit too close to a heater". Baffled my husband and I both at him and said I was nowhere near a heater all day long; it was freezing cold that day, but I had not sat near a heater and as he could obviously see the lacy pattern was constantly spreading till almost over my knees. He looked at everything and gave me a referral note and then without doing the MRI brain d/c me with antibiotics and painkillers. With the pain that was surging through my body, I asked him frustrated at this point if he was trying to kill me and if he had even looked at my charts because I had to bring to his attention if he had he would see prescribing stilpane which contains paracetamol was written all over my charts it was on my medic-alert bracelet as one of the medications that sends me into complete anaphylactic reaction causing my airways to swell as I'm deathly allergic and yet he prescribed Stilpane.

I kept saying to my husband I still don't feel well and that I have sharp pains in my head. I had to report to everyone from the triage nurse to Dr Mafa but he d/c me anyway. On Monday 29th August I was admitted to Netcare Sunninghill hospital with a vascular surgeon who referred me to a rheumatologist because the pain became unbearable, they did an MRI Brain and a lumbar puncture and if Dr Mafa did it on the 25th and started the corticosteroid IV treatment instead of trying to get me out of the ER bed as fast as he could it might have prevent the vasculitis from reaching my brain and causing beading. Because I now have to go through 6 monthly cycles of cyclophosphamide to treat it, I don't even know if my medical aid is going to approve it.

See, I already received a call from your accounts dept regarding the outstanding ER account and the radiology regarding their account because my MSA is depleted but was I admitted and not so I didn't have to pay for these accounts but so my whole life wasn't changed in two days if only he took the time to take proper handover.

Who needs to keep paying? We all take the same oath. I will do no harm, I did it till the last day I was a bedside nurse; I am still do in my holistic practice when I am a patient advocate, but who is my advocate? When am I mistreated like this? What happens if this treatment doesn't get covered do, I just have to take out another loan, like the R36k when the ENT and his anaesthetic brother blew out my eardrums at your hospital and the medical didn't cover for my hearing aids even in theatre when he could not find a vein after poking about 10 times when I was screaming in theatre I take back my consent and want to go back to the ward and he told the anaesthtic nurse to shut me up and put the mask over my face, I ended up with a drip sewn in my neck, they still operated, killed for me literally for 2mins on the table resussed me and fractured my sternum and four ribs? When is it going to end?

You run in my eyes a world class hospital, but you need to start putting world class staff in it because honestly something needs to be done about this incident. Like I said I let that go I should never I should have exposed that surgeon for grommets that left me with 2% hearing and a bank loan of R36K for hearing aids the medical aid didn't cover when I wasn't even there for that. But when it comes to this something needs to be done, something needs to said, where do I get the finances from to now pay your outstanding ER, radiology bills I wasn't helped. But so very quickly I had to get a call to say I owe money. Just like that ENT three years after the fact the audacity to get a phone call to say I owe them R198 for a f/up script when I wouldnt associate myself with him ever again but I paid it because seriously you cant tell what was on the script when the f/up visit was but I need to pay.

So, I'm asking that someone if not you contact me, about how I was treated how sick I have been since that night because I won't be just paying and I won't just be silenced even if it means I need to be my own advocate, this time and if the medical aid rejects my request send in for the cyclophosphamide that I now need then I am not footing the bill for that this time either.

What blows my mind is that Pine haven was amazing since I know it I don't know when it went down like this, but how do you receive **** treatment at one Netcare facility and at Sunninghill the most amazing treatment from all the doctors, specialists and nurses that took care of me? it baffles me because heaven help SA if the NHI does actually end up happening.
