Paying Dr and hospital for emergency services - R3481 for a migraine consultation

on 12/04/2020 I visited the Linmed Hospital in Benoni. I was treated well BUT 1) I had a migraine (which I suffer from since my teenage years); yet the Dr in emergencies insisted getting bloodwork done that costed me over R1667! 2) I paid the first bill I received from the hospital - and now also received a bill from "ER Consulting" - so you do not just pay once - I have paid the hospital bill (Linmed) received for R1096 but now also have to pay the Dr R718! In total - my migraine cost me R3481 Although I really did not understand why the dr insisted on the bloodwork - why does the hospital AND "the emergency dr" charge you for the services to the total of almost R2000!

As great as the services was, next time I will think twice using the emergency services of Linmed / Netcare
