Patient left Casualty as she came. The doctor refused to manage the pain as per Pain Management policies. The doctor denied the patient full access to a HealthCare service that she deservedd and needed. The doctor caused unneccesary debt accumulation. The

My daughter is a young woman living with Fibromyalagia. Fibromyalgia is a disorder that causes widespread chronic pain and tenderness. According to the American College of Rheumatology, fibro (as many patients call it) is more common in women than in men and also common among people with arthritis or chronic pain, such as rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, or lupus. Fibromyalgia can occur at any age but most often first strikes in middle age.

Doctors don’t know exactly what causes fibromyalgia, but they know that the condition is not due to an autoimmune disease, systemic inflammation, or physical joint or muscle disorder.

“People who have fibromyalgia have a reduced pain threshold. Last night she had excruciating pain that she visited Olivedale Hospital just for Pain relief. The doctor there told her: There was nothing she could do for her. Her condition is in the mind She needed to visit the Psychiatrist. The doctor administered the first line intravenous pain medication and told the patient to go home to see the Pain specialist. The pain was not better at the time. I called the Night Manager who was on duty expressing our concern. There was no extra help offered. My daughter was given a prescription to buy medication and go home. My concerns 1. She left casualty feeling the same as she arrived and the doctor, manager and hospital staff were fine with that. 2. The doctor was very rude. She told her she s NOT SICK IN THE BODY , B UT IN THE MIND. 3. The manager could not advocate for the patient even where he was asked to. 4. The doctor did blood tests that the patient had told her there will not be any reason for that because she has a formal diagnosis of FIBROMYLAGIA which does not show on any blood results. 5. Her severe pain was Not properly manager at all.

As a family we do not agree to pay for services that were NOT rendered and blood tests that were unneccsary. Please assist
