Pathetic service at Netcare Milpark Hospital

On Saturday (4th April) at 15:30 I had to take my husband to the emergency room at the Netcare Milpark Hospital with him being violently ill on his return trip from Tanzania. He thought perhaps he had malaria, having had it before he thought it would be best to get tested. This entails a simple blood test which should not take longer than 2 minutes before sending the blood work off for analysis.

Upon arrival at the emergency room there was uncer*****y around what Milpark actually offers in terms of Malaria testing which is pathetic to start off. It took over 2 hours before his blood was taken and then told to wait a further 90 min for results. To have one doctor on staff over a long weekend on the emergency room whilst it being a PRIVATE hospital is pathetic. Towards 19:00 that evening there was no longer space in the waiting room for people to sit.

I don't see how this event/ situation is tolerable for a private hospital where you are expected to pay cash up front should you medical aid plan not cover certain things but have to wait over 4 hours to have blood taken to find out if you have malaria. I find this totally unacceptable, so did many people in the waiting room.
