Nurses disregard patients under their care.

I received complaints and pleas from my family member via cellphone in the ungodly hours of the night, beyond visiting time because she was in great distress and severe pain. <br> <br> She had under gone an operation in the morning on Wednesday because she was involved in a gruesome motor vehicle collision on the Thursday, a week ago. She was experiencing significant discomfort and immense pain. She had pressed the button to call the nurses to come help her, yet to no avail, like the current government in power, they failed to deliver or acknowledge her cries for help.<br> <br> She is left with the only option of waiting for the morning staff and enduring the catastrophic pain she is undergoing during inconsistent periods of care giving from people I have no knowledge of. <br> <br> This is the most frustrating and frightening experience, to leave a loved one in the care of others in Netcare Garden City Hospital, only to be notified in the helpless hours of the evening and morning that your flesh and blood family is having to resort to using a cellphone to get help within a building of dedicated care and recovery.
