No feedback regarding complaint
My daughter was admitted to the Paediatric ward for investigation into why she was unable to swollow. She was perscribed a capsule by her doctor which needed to be opened and mixed in 10mls of water and then she was only meant to be be given 5mls. The nurse administering the medication opened up the capsule, dumped the whole lot of powder onto a s**** of porridge and shoved it in her mouth causing my daughter to cough and her throat to get burnt. My child already had issues swollowing and total disregard was given to her situation, as we were leaving to go home I confronted the unit manager infront of all her staff with my complaint and I was promised an investigation and phone call and to date nothing has been done. I am very dissapointed with the way the nurses treat children who have anxiety or mental health issues as another child was left to wander around when her parents weren't there and she seemed to be a joke to the staff. This is extremely cruel and the staff need to be given training to deal with all types of admissions. The food given to my child was shocking, I requested a soft diet and she was only given a bowl of custard, really unacceptable.
