No concern for patient health and well-being

Garden city hospital. When i think that all went well with regards to medical aid payment to the hospital, i was just lying tomyself. History is repeating itself. Last year December 18 December was admitted at the hospital went through casualty. Was very sick struggled to breath and chest pain time was around 10pm. I pleaded with casualty people to get authorisation for since i know thats a prerequisit they promised and say its their standard procedure to do that. I slept at garden city and admission paperwork was completed on the 19th december at around 1am. Ok fast foward mmedical aid didnt pay say authorisation was not completted.

This year on the 4th August i was at work driving i felt dizzy weak dufficult breathing wirh heart problem history as i was passing by garden city hosp i noticed i couldn't drive, i foeced myself to drive to hospital. I told them my problen and last year issue of non payment. Attending dr said they will follow up. Yesterday i received an email stating that i owe the hospital an amount of R1000. For late authorisation application. I called the lady who sent me email, she was not available was told to leave a message and contacts which i did. And also sent her email. She did not come back to me. I called again today i found her and requested explination. I asked her how can the request for authorisation be late she told me its apon me as a patient to make sure the authorisation is done, the hospital its only assisting not their responsibility. I further asked her that how can i follow up while i was so sick where my primary concern was to be healed at that time. I went on to ask myself what if i was in a coma or fainted. She said to me shes only on collections i must take it up with hospital. As my condition is still not recovered im so scared to be to angry because of my heart but they are really pushing. They say this R1000 is a penalty. How can that be. Last year i had to pay them for problem i didnt create now this year its happening again. My medical aid followed it up from last year up until now and they paid because ibtook the matter to hello peter... Now this. Im tired i have a heart problem and they dontbwory about it. Penalty for what if atleast if they said madical aid short paid them i will understand.
