NO BED SCHEDULED FOR OPERATION

Good Day,

After scheduling my operation / bed on the 19th of October 2017 with Pretoria East Hospital, when I arrived on the 24th for my operation they had no bed available for me. I was told that the Hosp was full and they were looking for a bed for me. I was sat waiting for almost 1hour in the lobby for Theater trying to get me a bed.

After 1hour they found a bed in the Oncology Ward for myself and another Day patient. My question is how do Hospitals not have a bed for when patients arrive after we are advised to pre-book and complete all admissions at least 48hours prior. Due to this frustration I had to be given a blood pressure medication prior to the operation as I was so worked up.

Definitely not the service I was paying or expecting from a Private Hospital.

Rudi
