Nightmare experience with Netcare Unitas Centurion Ward D hospital
I was admitted to Emergency at Unitas Netcare 4 February. In short this was a nightmare I was discharged after 2 hours and had to pay bill of R1444.70. I was extremely in pain and sick and admitted by a Rheumatologist 48 hours later. Unitas now harass and threaten me with an outstanding account for medication of R850. NO meds was given to me. at Emergencies. The communication between departments is unbelievable non existing. On the day I was admitted there was no dinner for me as I was nowhere on the system. My files was also mixed up with another Mrs Els down the passage, her procedures was claimed from my medical aid!! Discovery called me to check if I had the procedures because no authorisation was requested....the room was full of blood stains, old dry blood for days. Drip saline bags hidden in a bag behind a window I have no idea who wanted to take them where {home maybe)The aircon was not working we all complained and requested to be moved to the empty ward across the passage. They refused but after we contacted the hospital manager explaining we are ladies and in our pyjamas WITH NO PRIVACY when they had guys there for 2 days who could not sort out the problem. It was hot, unhygienic situation and we had fever because we could not even open a window, and at the time there was a heatwave in Gauteng. The staff was not very friendly with me and the other lady because we approached the Hospital Manager. Now I am threatened to be handed over for medication I did not recieve. I called Discovery and they assured me IF the medication was given after I was admitted they would cover it all on my top hospital plan. I made this morning alone 6 calls to get to speak to someone to address this matter for once and all. I was every time transferred from this to that person and it seems nobody knows who the right Department is. I am EXTREMELY disappointed in WARD D of Unitas Hospital in Centurion.
