New born baby discharged without being vaccinated
Good day, I would just like it to be known what disappointing service I got at Netcare Ferncrest. My wife went into labour on the 15 April, and she was discharged the following day (16 April). She was advised to bring my son back at the hospital for check up on the 10 May.
On the day, that when was then she was advised that my son was not fully vaccinated, and the vaccine he was supposed to have got was BCG. The reason that was given to us for not fully vaccinating him was that the hospital didn't have BCG on stock, and that we will be given a call back by mid May 2015 to bring my son back to the hospital for that vaccine. Till today, we still are waiting for the call from the hospital.
So we decided to call the hospital and requested to speak to the hospital manager, and explained our ordeal to her. The only feedback she gave was that 'she doesn't work at the maternity station and that we call that station'.

1. Why did the hospital accept our booking for the delivery knowing that they don't have all the vaccines?
2. Why we were not informed immediately after birth of this vaccine being out of stock?
3. Why was this vaccine claimed for on our medical aid?
