NETCARE WATERFALL HOSPITAL **** SERVICE

I have to say that the only thing nice about Netcare Waterfall Hospital is their building. Everything is terrible! The service is appalling! I have given this hospital many chances because I live 2 mins from the hospital but each time the service is just the same. On Wednesday morning at 2:30am I was there with my 8 month old son who was running a fever and vomiting. Just to get his vitals taken and a file opened, it took a whole hour and 8 mins! In an ER reception room that had 1 other person! The receptionists were sitting and staring at their cellphones and the nurse in Triage hunched over the chair and dozing off. I eventually left and drove to Pretoria at Life Healthcare where we were attended in 10 mins and my son admitted. Today I called the specialist I needed to see and he informed me he did not have space but since it’s an emergency I can go to ER and the specialist on call will see me. I waited in ER for 2 hours! All I did in those 2 hotwas write my name on a register and sit down. The worst thing is seeing other people being attended when they complain but others being ignored even though they were first. My vitals were not taken in that 2 hrs! All I did was sit, and listen to one of the receptionists chat to her ***** in Zulu on the phone for 20 mins! An emergency room is meant to assist patients swiftly and not make them wait till they are in an even more critical condition. I have been very patient with this hospital but frankly,the service is beyond bad! It’s a **** hole for a hospital!
