Netcare Waterfall Emergency Dept Fail

On the 13/05/2015@ 18h30 We rushed our infant (7 months) fell of pram at mall. We arrived at the hospital emergency department carrying crying baby and distraught mom to find a waiting room of patients. We were told to put our name down and wait for their 1 nurse to check. No one asked us what happened or the nature of our emergency. we waited for 45 mins till the 1 nurse checked our baby. he only checked pressure and heartbeat rate. He told us to wait for the doctor to see us. 1 hour later the doctor calls us to check baby. he says baby's fall all the time and baby is fine. We had to request that a CT scan be done. My complaint is about the Emergency department procedure. Firstly there needs to be more than 1 nurse or doctor available on any day. Secondly the moment we arrive a nurse should ask parents what happened and do a quick check on the patient thereafter catagorise the patients on urgency. More that one doctor should be present and the should be qualified and not just nurses. <br> We had an incident 4 years ago at same hospital when my son fell at creche and we arrived at emergency, the nurse at time did CT scan and sent us home saying all was fine but he had fracture.
