NetCare Unitas - Overcharging hospital stay/operations

This hospital *****s money from private patients!!!

I had to take my girlfriend for an emergency operation on 25 Feb 2022. We are not part of e medical aid so had to pay in private. They gave us a quoted price of R20 000 (paid in full, the morning off the operation) to be paid for her hospital stay and operating room time. This was quoted for 1 day's stay and 1 hour in the operating room. Everything went according to plan and she was in the operating room for 45 mins and stayed over for 1 night. A few weeks after wards we got another bill from the hospital saying that we owe them another R15 000 over and above what was already paid.

We have queried this with the Richard in the billing department and spoke to numerous people in the hospital's account department as well with NO Luck!

Please avoid this hospital as far as possible, especially when you are private paying patient
