Netcare Umhlanga- the worst place to go...

At the beginning of August my husband spent 2 weeks at Netcare Umhlanga. While I have no issues with the stay I have numerous issues with the post hospital bills. Firstly the hospital itself. Everytime there was a copayment they told us upfront and it was paid immediately. My husband couldn't eat a single bite of food or drink anything. But now I have a bill of R1500+ from the hospital because they gave him medical drinks that he never consumed. We enquired at every point what was and wasn't covered. Specifically for these drinks and were assured they were covered by med aid. Now they send final notice of payment although I have been querying at every letter and call. I have phoned, emailed and went into hospital but no relief. Pathetic service on the hospital part. Please be wary if looking at going there. Secondly their partners of the hospital are none the better. Er consulting. I went in numerous times and even made payments only to be called non stop again and again because there is always another bill they want us to pay. Have they not heard of consolidated billing? And why is it only when u make 1 payment that they come up with another. Then there is Ampath. The biggest ****** of all. Ampath system is they will provide the service, will never call or email you with a bill but couple months down the line you will get lawyers letters. Having experienced this previously I made it my duty to go and query and pay the account even without receiving any correspondence from them. Then as per their usual nonsense they phone and email with final notices even though I have already paid. Lancet is another case. Med aid is on my name, they phone me to make payment and when I want to make queries about it they say they cannot speak to me about the bill because of popia act. So why are they claiming from me. After finding out the issue which is between them and med aid they tell me they can't resolve because they are not allowed to phone med aid directly. So how do they get their normal payments if they don't liase with med aids.

Altogether plz avoid Netcare Umhlanga rather take yr business elsewhere, even in an emergency situation rather drive to gateway hospital or mt edgecombe.
