Netcare umhlanga Hospital experience.

HI I and my Dad HAD A BOOKING WITH DR Y T SINGH THE CARDIOLOGIST ON THE 29/05/2020 at netcare umhalnga hospital. When I arrived at the hospital I was told that I have to present for screening during the screening one of the questions was whether I was a health professional. I answered yes .Because I was a health professional and I was from the eastern cape. I was not permitted inside the doctors consultation room before a covid test. I traveled for more than 3 hours to be there and spent close to a 1000 rand on diesel. a covid test takes 24 to 48 hrs before the result were out .where was i supposed to stay under level 4 lock down. I did not know that the policy of netcare hospital differs. The previous day i was at margate netcare hospital and was seen by Dr steyn the physician and he referred me to umhlanga hospital.I asked them to show me a policy stating that because I am a healthprofessional and I am coming from the eastern cape i should do a covid test they couldn't and I even explained to them i have never been in contact with covid 19 patients. If they can't take my word they can even phone the ceo of the hospital were I work. They did not want to they just apologized and I had to drive back. I want to ask the netcare team is right to decline a patient the right to see medical attention. Why does your hospital policy differ . I am very dissapointed and would not recommend netcare umhlanga hospital .
