I was rushed to hospital due to a heart attack on 18 September 2022 via ambulance . I advised the paramedic that Netcare Umhlanga is not a network hospital for my medical aid plan type. The paramedic then contacted a person at the umhlanga hospital who confirmed that as per the Netcare hospital "P1" protocol, there will be no additional charge to me as a patient. The paramedic confirmed this on more than one occasion on the said day and he was adamant that there will be no additional charges to me as a patient. A few weeks later I received a bill from Netcare Umhlanga. I responded requesting for a manager but that was simply ignored. Netcare needs to either train their staff adequately and not lie to patients because it is extremely unprofessional for a group to behave in such a manner. It is extremely easy to list a person for ITC but nothing is done to the staff that mislead patients????
