Netcare Sunninghill Hospital is *********** with shocking service

My gosh, Netcare Sunninghill Hospital ward has the worst service! They make you pay R1200 for a “Maternity passport” which they say includes birth registration assistance yet I submitted my child’s birth registration and 2 weeks later the certificate came back with my child’s surname misspelt -I asked them to amend it and the assistant said she’d send it back and they’ll call me once it’s rectified. I waited almost 5 months and now the team at Sunninghill Maternity say it’s not their problem and I should deal with home affairs directly about the issue.

Why was I then charged for this service and my money taken for services not rendered? Why was this service falsely marketed under their maternity passport fee and now that my money has been taken and there are issues it’s suddenly between me and home affairs?

The assistant who helped me now even has the nerve to lie and say I registered and collected after 30 days which is impossible given there’s proof of our conversation via WhatsApp and the hospital trips to the ward to collect the certificate.

What kind of incompetence is this and why did the hospital market and receive funds for a service they have not rendered and now want me go up and down and to take it up with home affairs who I haven’t been dealing with?

Their maternity ward is also incredibly noisy at night with the nurses talking so loud. I had to complain several times for them to keep it down after giving birth, so we can sleep but they weren’t bothered!
