Netcare St Augustines Hospital a major disappointment

We rushed my son to netcare's St Augustines Hospital in Durban on Sunday 28/05/2023. He had a 39 degree temperature that we could not break and was coughing really badly. He was triaged at a yellow level. So we sat in the waiting room. Almost 2 hours later had not been seen to. Not even checked on.

My husband went to find out what was going on, only ro find out that only one doctor was on duty. Now bear in mind that this is the emergency department. ONE DOCTOR ON DUTY IN THE TRAUMA/EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT. How on earth is that acceptable standards in a private hospital? What happens if multiple trauma patients come in at the same time? How is that dr supposed to deal with everything?

After eventually being seen to after nearly 2 and a half hours we get told that they can't find anything that's an issue, he's being sent home with symptomatic treatment. It blows my mind. A person does not sit with a temperature of 39 degrees for nothing.

At this rate the hospital may as well be turned into a government hospital. You wait just as long and deal with as much incompetence as a government hospital, so why should we waste our medical aid funds to a hospital that doesn't even know what's going on or even has any urgency to deal with patients quickly and compassionately. VERY DISAPPOINTED!
