NETCARE - RUSTENBURG ALLOWS EMPLOYEES TO ***** FROM PATIENT'S

Ferncrest Rustenburg allows for its workers to ***** patients belongings and nothing is done about it. No repercussions.

For a private hospital it the worse service ever .

On the 4th of August I was admitted to the hospital for covid unfortunately while unconscious batleting covid my phones were ******. Upon waking up in the ICU ward days later asking for my cellphones I was told my phones are in a safe place and no phones are allowed in the ICU. After being moved to the general ward. I again asked for my cell phones and i was told by the nurse it could not be found.

Ferncrest as private hospital is pathetic !! Camera footage shows nurses moving me to ICU and my belongings been put in the room with other patients belongings, where only staff have access to the room. After weeks of being in the hospital asking for my phones and if they found it I was told by the ward manager sister Pinky we have hope they will be brought back..

Not only did the phones not come back. The service provided was not up to par from nurses avoiding my calls even if it was medical related because they were scared I'd ask again where are my cellphones..

After weeks of their investigations which required every nurse in and out that room to write a statement, the hospital its self addmiting verbally its their fault the phones can not be found as the nurses on duty fail to lock the cell phones in the safe. The hospital than requests for me to get a replacement quote for the cell phones to submit to head office. The quotes were submitted only to be told weeks later. The hospital is not laibe for any patients belongings getting ****** as we the patients sign terms and conditions that state upon admission they are not responsible for any loss.

Their T&'s states "Netcare will not be liable or responsible for any loss of, damage or destruction to, any property, including money and valuables, belonging to the patient, or in possession of the patient, or given to Netcare for safekeeping." However the hospital fails to realize this is an act of theft by their own employees not loss. The cellphones were safe in my possession, I did not I give netcare the belongings for safe keeping. The cellphones were taken as I was told I can not have them as they are not allowed in ICU. They weren't given to netcare employees to keep they were TAKEN from me with out my consent even after asking for it.

They don't even repremand the employees who ***** or who were responsible for locking up a person's belongings making sure it's safe.

It's sad that ferncrest allows its staff to ***** from sick patients who come their for help and than say the belongs lost.

Highly disappointed at the service. This is what contributing to the *******ion of South Africa. Loss and theft have two different meanings
