NETCARE PINEHAVEN

I went to the Emergency Department on 3 May 2020, with severe Abdominal pain.

An hour later the GP attended to me, told me that he ad ordered blood tests and charged me R 936.Within the hour the following happened:

A nurse? attached a drip to me after three attempts she damaged an artery and caused a hardening and blood clot in the one attempt. In the two attempts she pulled the needle out without protecting the wound which resulted in a stream of blood running out of the wound. She apologized while putting her finger, WITHOUT A GLOVE, on the hole.

The GP diagnosed Shingles, submitted me to the Hospital and prescribed pain medicine, a cream and anti-biotics. The Shingles rash were on my back.

In the Hospital I got given a gown and were told that the Dr., a surgeon (why a Surgeon I don't know) will see me soon. Three hours later I called the nurse and asked her about the medicine. She walked out and came back with a bottle of foam for children with chicken pox. She told ME TO APPLY this as regular as I want, ON MY BACK. An hour later I called her requesting the pain medicine. She brought it to me and walked out. I called her back again and asked her for the Anti-biotics.

My lunch where brought in a polystyrene container and water in a bottle. No plate, no glass, no table.

Why do we allow this to continue? Why must I be at a health risk in a private medical facility? Why do I get charged R 7000 for the knight that I stayed? I am on Discovery Comprehensive medical aid and I get treated like a dog. When are we going to be compensated for having to go through this?
