Netcare Parklane Hospital Poor Service
My mum was admitted this morning for a day procedure. When i went to fetch her at discharge from the ward, The nurses didn’t know which room she was in. I was asked by one of the nurses to call my mum to find out which room in the ward she was in because as the nurse said the system showed my mum was in room 2 but she actually wasn’t. the nurse eventually found the room where my mum was in and i asked for a porter. 15 mins later no porter arrived so I asked for a wheelchair so I could wheel my mum to the car myself. eventually a porter arrived. Only for me to hear in the entire hospital there was only ONE porter on duty. The catering department was also an issue. My mum order a sandwich on white bread and she was brought brown bread. She noted that she doesn’t eat brown bread and was told sorry our white bread is stale. So my mum asked please can they toast the “stale” white bread for her. The lady then returned with a sandwich on white bread untoasted and told my mum it would take a while to toast the bread. For A Private facility this is unacceptable. This is definitely not Netcare Standards. Clearly hospital management needs to attend to these issues. It is concerning when the nurses don’t know where in the ward ptients are and also when patients are in the incorrect beds there’s a risk of being given incorrect medication. and when i brought this up I was told no the nurses always ask the patients name before administering medication:
