I went Netcare Olivedale Hospital on Friday the 9th of December as our Son had signs of fever and his body Temp was 38.4 degrees Celsius. We were called into a room that had lots of mosquitos , house flies and water flies on the wall as there was an air conditioner that was broken and the water was flowing on the wall forming brown lines on the wall and the was a bucket collecting some of the water. We patiently waited for 2 hours but no one came to update us or to tell us as to when we were going to be attended to until I went and asked one of the nurses her name was Aman and she said they had only one Doctor who was busy with a Priority 1 case and I said this is a busy Clinic to have one Doctor on a Friday we checked in at 2148hrs and we rated as a priority 2 which meant our case was supposed to be attended to in 45 minutes and it was 23 42hrs as there was no one at the waiting area . I also requested her if she could help us as there were lots of mosquitos in the room and she said she will get someone to assist but nothing was done. The Nurse the came back to our room at around 0005hrs to assist. She checked the body Temperature for our Son it had risen to 39 degrees that is when she ran to get some stuff she inserted into our Son's behind to suppress the Temperature to our Son got worse medically while we were waiting for service.

She then went and called the Doctor who checked our Son and asked for blood test to be done and she told us they would take an hour to get the results. A guy came and did the tests and went away and we were left there until 0143hrs while the mosquitos where having a party on us. So they checked our Son's Temperature and it was down to 37.4 degrees Celsius and the Doctor prescribed some medication.

I just saw that right from the Directors, Doctors and to the nurses there is no curtesy about patients and no one cares at all ! There was no apologies or remorse for all this mishaps. The place used to be to be good and efficient Hospital but now the service and the infrastructure is dilapidated. It was a night in Olivehell! and I will not go there again. The next time I will have an emergency I won’t risk my family's life by going to Netcare Olivedale Hospital.
