Netcare: Olivedale Clinic negligence

I went to Netcare Olivedale Clinic on Thursday night in the Emergency department. Bloods were taken and I was given pain drip then sent home by Dr Mpanza at midnight. I was told to come back for an ultrasound. On Friday I went for the ultrasound and told to go back to the emergency department, which I did and explained to the receptionist I was returning from yesterday

I was not happy with the proceedings because 1. There was no record of me having been there the day before (no bloods, no notes for Drs to refer back to) 2. The ultrasound had inconsistencies. The notes said I was tender on my left but when in fact it was my right abdomen where I flinched when the lady was doing the ultrasound 3. The ultrasound suggested an enlarged ovary on my left, which was later concluded was fine 4. On the basis of that, the gynae and Drs ordered a CT scan because they feared a torsion. When the CT scan came back then the gynae (Dr Braam?) came to see me. Only then did she ask if I had done bloods. It shocked me because why would you order an expensive CT scan when you had not even looked at my full records? 5. She went through the bloods and concluded it was an infection (I had to tell them I was there the night before and no one even knew where the bloods were)

Now I need to understand why I had to go through all of this for an infection that could have been picked up from bloods. I am now left with paying for 1. 2 emergency visits (one of which no one has record of) 2. Bloods (which seem to have been discarded and not considered early enough because there were not on record) 3. For an ultrasound whose report was inconsistent 4.For a CT scan that was ordered by the gynae who did not consider the bloods and ultrasound before even ordering it, because in the end when she saw the bloods she decided it was an infection so the CT was not even necessary to begin with 5. Why didn’t Dr Mpanza pick this up from the same bloods?

My medical aid will not cover these because they are out of hospital and I was not admitted despite spending Thursday and Friday there
