Netcare & Netcafe risks my life

I am currently a patient at Netcare Milpark Hospital where I have been for the past 12 days. During my stay here & at most Netcare hospital's, I enjoy dining at the Netcafe until my experience yesterday. I had a meal there & due to an unfortunate mistake, my business card was declined. Which was swiped on a standard Bank speedpoint so no reason was given to why. So, The staff on duty starts embarrassing me & raising their tone. The owner was then contacted telephonically & she tells me that my card is being declined on all 4 of their machines & I tell her that only one was tried. They then bring a FNB speedpoint, I swipe, it doesn't get declined... But a msg pops up saying "limits exceeded"

I then proceed to understand that as it's a business account, alot of transactions was done throughout the day which is affecting this swipe for R290. I tell the manager I need to get back to my ward as I am diabetic & it's time for my medication. She calls the owner who tells me that I can't leave. Now this is the same place I am staying for and eating by for the past 12 days. My ward is in the same hospital. I can't run away. I then go to my ward only to be called by the manager for payment. I go back to the Netcafe, I am unable to increase my limits on my app but I am able to do an eft payment for them now as you can see that there are available funds in my account. Manager keeps me waiting in the shop for an account number. In the interim, I am getting sick, I am medicated and supposed to be in bed in my hospital ward. She takes to long so I leave, only to faint as I get back to my ward. This can be confirmed with the nurses.

This morning I am paid a visit by who I presume are the owners of the Netcafe. A very impolite white couple who treated me as if it was still the apartheid era. They in my ward, I explain the situation, I show them my app, I tell them that someone will be visiting me in an hour and I will be able to pay it in cash. They stand in my private ward in Netcare Milpark Hospital and treat me like I am a ***** & I can't afford my tab. The woman goes to the extent to insult me by saying that she works for FNB & she will show me how to use the app correctly. Now... I am in the financial industry myself. For 12 years. I am FICA & Fais compliant. I have a CIMA qualification. I know what is wrong. Anyway they finally agree to wait an hour for the 290. But they then start questioning me about when I am being discharged, they pursue to my nurses telling them to watch over me. This is at Netcare. Where I have always been a patient, I had 4 operations done here. I once spent 22 days in their ICU unit. I am on a classic comprehensive discovery medical aid plan. Netcare has never ever had an issue with me regarding any payment. and I have never had a issue with them. But right now, I am going to RHT myself from here and go to a Life facility as I feel like Netcare treated me badly. I am here for a hip replacement operation. It is a major op which costs alot of money but I was humiliated & embarrassed by a ****** white couple over R290. If Netcafe represents Netcare then it's a poor reflection on Netcare due to these people. I am still so disgusted at there are still white people out there who thinks they can have this attitude. Shocks me. Shame on you!
