Netcare Linmed should be ashamed
I went to the emergency department at Netcare Linmed on the 21st of July 2021 for heart palpitations. The emergency room doctor was very short with me and asked me a total of 2 questions. He decided that my palpitations were due to an anxiety/panic attack and blew me off. Despite being a registered psychologist and adamant that it was not anxiety/panic attacks, I was completely ignored. I went home to experience continued heart palpitations going around 160 beats per minute for a week until I managed to see a specialist. It was not in fact due to anxiety/panic attacks.
Then discovery refuses to pay for this because I was not admitted to the hospital and they have so far deemed it to have been an unecessary visit. I was afraid that I would die but alas that is of no importance to Netcare or Discovery. Because of this Netcare decided to send all my information to the "other contact" (i.e., emergency contact with a new title so they can get away with this) without contacting me or my husband first. They also sent all my information to a third party (not the "other contact") without my permission. They completely ignore the National Health Act and POPI and get away with it. I tried to talk to them about this but they really do not seem to care one bit.
They turned my scary health emergency into a nightmare. They have breeched doctor patient trust.
