Netcare has not refunded me the payment I made in advance for Ambulance services - 5 weeks later

On the 9th June 2025 my 90 year old father was required to be moved from Linkfield Hospital to Randjies retirement estate by Ambulance. I contacted Netcare 911 who gave me a quote and insisted that they have a proof of payment prior to moving him. Once they had the proof of payment they informed me telephonically that they would not be able to move him for a number of hours. I contacted an alternate ambulance service and they immediately moved my father and only requested payment afterwards. I contacted the department who had requested the proof of payment and requested a refund. They gave me an alternate number to call. On the 19th June I contacted Netcare again about the refund of the money I had paid and was requested to provide numerous documents - ID, Bank Details, Bank Statement etc. This I did. In addition, I have followed up by email every week for the last 4 weeks and am told each time that they will follow up with Finance. It has now been 5 weeks since they have had all my documentation and still no refund. I find this extraordinarily unprofessional and rude. They will not move an elderly sick indivual without payment, but wont process a refund of the money within 5 weeks.

Morning Debbie. I am sorry to hear about your experience with us. I will escalate this to the relevant managers for follow up. Take care, Lynne.
