Netcare Constantia Day clinic
We are so very dissapointed in Netcare Constantia Day Clinics working ethics. In January this year our little boy needed to have his tonsils removed and we got authorization from our medical aid. Everything was approved and before we left the clinnic said there was nothing to pay. Up to a few weeks later we get a almost R12000.00 invoice saying our Medical aid (Medihelp) rejected the claim. They rejected one medical procedure code and the clinic could not up to today reverse the claim and re claim and only give us the code to pay which was rejected. It cost us R8000 for the Doctors and R12000-00 for their bill due to incompetence in the work place. We dealt with Kylie Ndlovu whom we also asked us to refer to her management and eventually spoke to a Cindy Strauss and still no outcome. We have in the meantime paid this account but are very unhappy and would like Netcare to respond and let us know why we had to settle the whole bill if our medical aid did authorize and we actually only needed to pay a co payment for the one code not authorized? I think the facility needs better management and people who understand how to work with medical billing and coding. Numerous emails get sent but the actual problem never sorted. From my working in the Wilgeheuwel casualty unit for 6 years i know that it's possible to bill a client and have them pay only the co payment. Never have i in my years of billing saw that a client is kept liable for a full bill. now months have passed and nothing was done so this is probably my loss. Even though i did all the necessary steps to claim the right way. We want answers from Netcare and we won't recommend them to any of our friends and family. How can i even trust that everything charged for was actually done if the facility can't even sort out a billing issue.
Take care, Lynne.
