Netcare allowing doctors to rip us off for things that they can't explain.

I have a serious concern with what is happening at Netcare Polokwane. Especially the private doctors they are ripping us off and Netcare is allowing it since it's happening under their watch. 2 months back I my child was not feeling well and I had to take him to a doctor. I went into Dr Machidi's rooms where I was told to pay 250 rand since it's my first visit, I didn't have the money with me at a time and I was told they will make a note of it. I then asked what the money was for since I have funds on my medical aid or are they assuming there is going to be shortfall of some sort from my scheme payment or is it a doctor's levee. The PA there told me no it's because I'm a first timer and so I didn't read much into it because I was focusing on the little one. I then saw the doctor and everything. He did some test and what's not. The medical aid paid everything in full. I was then harassed by Dr Machidi's PA requesting this 250 rand. Now that my child was ok I was back onto my senses and I asked her what's is this money for she said everyone is paying it why am I being difficult. Hawu. Few days down the line I called the doctor (Dr Machidi) to ask about the results for my child. He called me into his office. The first set words he said was "I'm not going run my things the way you want" I'm like what are u referring to, his response was I have been told that you do not want to pay the 250 rand. My calm response was when have I ever said I don't want to pay the money all I asked was what was it for as I'm not willing to pay for something I don't know, anyway I told him that now that we are in the office he can gladly answer. He came up with more than six potential reasons that were all over the place and didn't make sense at all of why I should pay the money. He mentioned that everyone is paying it so should I, he went onto saying that all the doctors at Netcare are charging it, he then said as doctors they are never thaught the accountancy side of business, then he needs it to keep the file for 5 years, and that different medical schemes pays at different rates. My response to the above was I'm not everyone to begin with so I can't pay for things I do not know and also my child's other dr (Dr Ledwaba) never said she needs money to keep any file is she also not expected to keep the file for that five years. Like both the PA and the doctor failed to explain why they wanted the money and are busy requesting it from other people. I even asked what happens in the case where I'm not happy with the doctors services do I get the money back to use elsewhere when seeing another doctor for the first, the answer was no. He then said I can keep the money and take it as a xmas gift which I made it clear that I'm not in need of such especially from him. So if he is failing to answer such a straight forward thing of why are they taking people's money why are they allowed to and Netcare knows about it. Imagine because he initially didn't even want to give my child's results that have been paid for fully because of this unjustifiable 250 rand. We are being ********** here on broad day light. I have been to more the 15 doctors in kzn and never had to pay such nonsense. What makes its disturbing is the level aggressiveness when they are asked what the money for. Netcare you are keeping these people so are just as responsible. Please care to explain.
